Camping at Honeymoon Pool- Directions

Are you wanting to go camping somewhere peaceful relaxing & not too expensive yet not travel too far from Perth Australia ?

We found an amazing camping spot by accident on the way back from a few days camping at Walpole down south .

As we traveled Back north a lot of other places were busy & we even tried in Busselton .

After leaving there we came across a sign saying Wellington dam so in a split second decision we took the turn & I was so glad we did !

Honeymoon Pool is a fantastic swimming spot along the Collie River near Wellington Dam & a short drive from Collie where you can do your shopping .

It is only for camping with your tent amongst the shade of the trees & as well as the bbq's there are flush toilets as well as water available.

When we arrived there the camping spots were full so we had a swim & drove away to sleep the night in the car .

Early morning we decided to cook breakfast back at honeymoon pool & while there a lady informed us that had just become available so we decided to stay a few days

It is ideal for unwinding from city stress , swimming and bush walking.

To get to Honeymoon Pool it is about 2 and a half hours using the Kwinana Freeway and South Western Hwy approx 190 k's . Google maps will give you the directions when you are ready to go .

It costs $7 per adult per night and $5 for Seniors.

 I loved it there and was happy to swim , go for a walk , play games and read in the shade of the many trees there .

You can also go canoeing down rapids or go bike riding nearby.

However we needed more food so we drove into Collie for supplies . After a visit to Collie Tourist information centre we checked out the shops .

.There are 2 supermarkets to choose from , restaurants etc.

It is a beautiful picturesque spot , relaxing and enjoyable .

We were able to keep our tent open at night , watching the bird life at sunrise .

Take a supply of candles , wine , swimmers , walking shoes , camera etc.
