Exploring Cornwall In A Campervan
Are you longing to explore the hidden delights of Cornwall at a leisurely pace without the crowds ? We decided to get in early as we are exploring in our camper van and need to be able to find car parking that suits our needs .
Our trip to Cornwall was in March just before the crowds were increasing to out of control numbers and it made for a very pleasant trip - Just like where we are now in Lagos Portugal -( that is another hub to follow )
We love free camping so finding places to stay the nights was high priority as well as being early to the Must See places like ST Michaels Mount etc.
Free Overnight Stops in Cornwall
As we had decided to travel Cornwall out of season it made it easy for us to free camp or park overnight for free in some interesting locations as we explored the area .
We always make sure we check for signs about camping first and do not stay if camping is prohibited or going to be in the way of anyone else .
Some of the places we parked were in the woods by a stream, near the beach , out in the country in a layby, In a supermarket carpark that was open for 24 hours .
We have also joined "Brit Stops " Free pvernight parking for campervans all over Britain. You pay for a book+ sticker an it pays for itself in just 1 free night !

Narrow Streets in Cornwall
Maze of Fun
Whatever you do - DO NOT DO AS WE DID- If you are in a campervan in Cornwall then PARK ASAP in a car park.
It is a nightmare negotiating those tiny narrow streets barely missing the houses on each side of you with your mirrors, almost running over peoples toes as they struggle to get out of your way as they watch the horrified look on your face - The relief as you make your way into a wider street is overwhelming and only then can you breathe a sigh of relief ( Sad to say we made the same mistake again in Portugal but that is another hub to come )
