Kimberleyland - Kununurra Caravan Park
69Kimberleyland - Kununurra Caravan Park
After traveling for many hours in the car either from Broome / Halls Creek or Katherine the last thing you want to do when arriving at Kununurra is spend time driving around with your caravan/camping trailer or in your big bus trying to find the best camping spot to unwind & relax for a few days .
If you love the water , peace & quiet the wildlife and have no dogs on board as well as looking for the cheapest place to stay then I reccommend Kimberleyland a Kununurra Caravan Park that has friendly managers , An amazing place to camp near the water and a pool that has a relaxing atmosphere day as well as the evening .
There are not that many mozzies here like everyone says so don't miss out on an amazing stay because of them !
Come and meet Rodney the resident crocodile !
There is a shop here for bread ice etc as well as being able to arrange tours .
Kimberleyland also has cabins available by the lake for those without a caravan/camperhome etc.

Kununurra Caravan Parks
I checked out the other caravan parks as well before arrival .
Hidden Valley Caravan Park looks nice if you have a dog or you are not wanting to be on the waters edge . It has lovely valley views .
We had dinner at Lakeside Caravan park the other night & found it to be a very busy park having the restaurant there. The meal was lovely and we will visit again for their Wednesday night special.
The pool looked awesome & I would have loved a swim however there is no privacy as it is ion full view of the restaurant so we came back to Kimberleyland for a peaceful swim. Lakeside is further away from town than Kimberleyland .
Kimberleyland is a pleasant stroll away from town along the lake and through the park.

Some great info here for anyone visiting the area. It would save a lot of time to read your article first! :) Thanks for the heads up, hope to get up that way one day. Voted up!
Would love to come and visit. We were having a breaky bbq on the shores of Lake Macquarie this morning just talking about how long it will take us to get back on the road... setting our sights on the end of 2012 YAY!
Our favourite place to stay in Kununurra. Stayed there twice and loved it. Fantastic pool area - such a relief staying at Kimberlyland after working for 6 months in Halls Creek. www.wanowandthen.com
Thank you for this gallery of magnificent photographs. I enjoyed reading your Hub. Well done!
Great piece of writing! I love camping, road trips and traveling in general so I really appreciate you putting this out. I also plan on eventually making it over to Australia and New Zealand.
I loved the photos too - beautiful! Cheers.
Hi Guys.. great hub and love the topic. Will be up to Halls Creek this week coming (Savanah Nickle), just near the Bungle Bungles, so won't quite get up to say g'day this time. However, next time I know I'll be driving thru I'll email in advance. I usuall refuel my truck out at the Ausfuel depot when passing through.

It looks a great place to stay, with some stunning scenery and who could want more than a resident crocodile. I stayed in town at the youth hostel when I was in Kununurra - not particularly scenic, but they had a pool and was in the town centre
