The Beach Or Mountains ?
Do you prefer the beach or mountains ?
When I saw this question I knew I had to answer it as I love spending time at a beach - not the ones in built up areas so much but ones away from the hustle & bustle of town .
I also love being up in the mountains enjoying the views of valleys below and knew I couldn't answer this question and give both the beach and the mountains justice in a few short sentences as the beach and the ocean has always played a big part in my life as we sailed from Britain to New Zealand when I was 5.
Living in New Zealand we spent a lot of time driving up and down steep hills , enjoying the mountains as well as time on the beach so which do I prefer - Beach or Mountains ?
The Beach
Beach or Mountains
The beach has a special place in my life as this is where we see some amazing beautiful animals - sea creatures .
I have been fortunate enough to stand knee deep in the ocean at Monkey Mia in Western Australia and feed a dolphin .
While at Ningaloo Reef we sat on the beach of an evening to watch the turtles nesting & I had a huge turtle almost walk over me in its hurry to be back safe in the sea. My husband moved apart & watched as it slowly walked between us - an amazing moment we will never forget.
The next day we swam with a turtle while snorkeling & seeing the amazing world beneath the sea.
I love watching dolphins playing together or seeing a whale swimming by .
My daughters & I would go boogie boarding catching the waves back into shore or just walking along the beach picking up shells enjoying being together.
When we were young we would go pippying in New Zealand with Mum & Dad out Brighton way and then enjoy our fresh pippys for tea .
I remember evenings fishing at Birdlings Flat near Christchurch where like Broome it had the Staircase to the Moon & we had a fire going amongst the stones .
The beach holds so many special precious memories for me over the years from New Zealand - Australia - Back in Wales we visited the beach wherever we could & I even swam in the sea on the East Coast .

Mountains or the Beach
I enjoy spending time in the mountains looking at the view - going for a bush walk - The Blue Mountains looking at the 3 Sisters or going 4 wh driving in Barrington Tops is really nice .
There is something about being right away from the busy lifestyle in the city or town and camping by the river in the hills .

Swim in the sea
Boogie board in on the waves
Kayak along the shore
Sail amongst the dolphins
Cruised from Country to Country
Caught dinner fresh for tea
Swam with a turtle
Watched the Wales
Enjoy romantic walks....
Yet in the mountains I go for a walk , swim in a river and enjoy the peace and look to see if I can see the ocean !
