Tour UK - Start in London

The Underground is a great way to get where you want to go fast around London however to get to know London you need to experience one of the many red buses for sightseeing around Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and the river Thames.

The first time I returned was with my parents in 1979 & we caught a train from Reading to Newport where we were met by relatives .

Last time we arrived in Heathrow my Uncle drove to Heathrow Airport to pick us up !

However I am hoping to return with my new husband and we will spend some time exploring London before heading out of the city to explore Cornwall & more of England , Wales Scotland & the Irish countryside as I only made it as far as Dublin last time .

When Visiting London , the capital of England and the United Kingdom,and  the largest metropolitan  take your time to appreciate and enjoy the history everywhere and imagine what it would have been like living there in the 1800s before all of the mod cons we have today ..

Visit Museums that share the past with you , While having a drink at the old pubs enjoy a yarn with the older locals who have stories to share .

if you are in London this week most likely you will be planning on being by Buckingham Palace on April 29 for the Royal wedding of Prince William & Kate Middleton with your mobile phones to share photo's with your facebook & twitter followers .

Make sure you have water & snacks to keep you going for the long day .

1.A Thames River Boat Cruiseas it is always good to see a city from the water

Have a ride on the London eye ! It was foggy the day I was on it so i hope you get a sunny day !

Have a picnic in Hyde Park by the Serpentine , have a horse ride while thereJust southwest of the Serpentine is a memorial installed in honor of princess Diana. The modern fountain, which resembles a small river rather than a fountain, was inaugurated in 2004 by Queen Elisabeth II

Walk around Windsor Castle

Visit the Borough Market , Portobello Road markets

See the London Sea Life Aquarium

Have a stroll through Harrods early as it gets scary when there are too many in there at once.

Visit Madam Tussuad's and Baker Street

Walk down Oxford street , Trafalgar square , Visit some museums etc

Visiting Castles & Bodiam Castle in East Sussex was my favourite with the moat !
